I'm a Beachbody Coach

I am now officially a Beachbody Coach!

I am excited to meet new people that want help to find their road to healthy. To be there every step of the way while you achieve your health and fitness goals. To be a form of support when you feel like nothing is going right or you don't think you can push play.

Round Two - Day Sixteen

Workout: Does driving to have the oil changed, the tires rotated, finding the right items needed for our trip count?

Breakfast: ----

Lunch: Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Medium Fries, Medium Diet Dr Pepper

Dinner: Leftover slice of Pizza

How Do I Feel Today: Today was another off day. I have so much to do to get ready and every day I think I'm ahead of the game only to find another thing that needs to be completed before we can leave. My boys were chosen for Mutton Bustin at the San Antonio Rodeo in February next year and I thought I still had another month to get forms done, but turns out they need to be there by December 1st, so I need to run to the bank to have some forms notarized and then the post office to have them mailed. I feel like I'm running all over and not getting anywhere or anything completed.

Can only get better tomorrow, right?

How Do I Feel Today: I am trying to stay on track. It's going to be a long week of struggling to get everything ready for our trip and still try to end this final week strong for round two. I will be starting Round Three and it will be intense on December 1st. My two boys will be in the San Antonio Rodeo and I really want to rock the Wranglers I have had in my dresser for years now. So, round three will be doubling up on some workouts. I'm looking at getting P90 with my coaching sign up. I really want something that will keep me challenged and not constantly repeat the same thing every day for x amount of days before going to the next routine.
Are you ready to try something that will help you build muscle and tone up?

Round Two - Day Thirteen

Workout: Housework

Breakfast: Greek Yogurt (1 Red)
                  Raspberries/Blueberries/Banana (1 Purple)
                  Granola (1 Yellow)

Snack: Pear (1 Purple)

Lunch: Veggie Patty (1 Red)
             Cheddar Cheese (1 Blue)
             Baked Asparagus (1 Green)

              Salad Mix (1 Green)
              Tomatoes/Bell Peppers/Cucumbers (1 Green)
              Dressing (1 Orange)

How Do I Feel Today: I managed to stay on task today. I finished house cleaning and laundry. I chose the quote above today as a reminder to everyone that what you see on TV, Movies, and in Magazines is not normal. Those actresses spend exuberant amounts of time at the gym with personal trainers and eat special diets. Magazines are Photoshopped. You have to remember that you can only do what your body is capable of doing. I've had two babies and two c-sections. I've never been very active until a few months ago. I mean I dabbled a little here and there with going to the gym, riding my bike, running, walking, weights, etc. I have always been slender...not overly huge. I carry my weight proportionately through my body. I can not stress that the number on the scale does not define who I am and neither should you. What defines me is how I feel every day, how much stronger I get with each workout, and my emotional being. I went through a really hard month after quitting my job and when I really committed to working out each day and eating better I felt so much better emotionally. I was able to take on my daily tasks that seemed too large to do. I know I will never be a size 4 and I am okay with that. Right now I fluctuate between an 8 and a 10 and I feel good. I look healthier and my energy level is amazing. I'm able to do so much more with my two boys than I ever was before. So, today get out there and do something that your body will be thankful for tomorrow.

Round Two - Day Twelve

Workout: None (spent the morning doing some serious cleaning and organizing)

Breakfast: Oatmeal (1 Yellow)

Lunch: Quesadilla (2 Yellow, 2 Blue)

Dinner: 3 Italian Cheesy Bread Squares (2 Yellow)

How Do I Feel Today: Despite not eating much or completely overdoing my yellows I feel good. I spent the morning doing cleaning and organizing. Something I've been putting off and feel amazing at having finished it.
The picture I put for today's motivation is two comparative pictures...the first one is just a week before I quit working and the other was last week. You can see my face has slimmed up some. I can see the many changes in my emotional and physical being. Today was not a setback for me. It was a day I really needed. I can only go forward. Tomorrow will be more cleaning, hopefully a workout, and better eating. Enjoy your weekend.

Round Two - Day Eleven

                  Blueberries/Raspberries/Banana (1 Purple)
                  Granola (1 Yellow)

Snack: 2 Hard Boiled Eggs (1 Red)

Dinner: 2 Ribs (1 Red)
               Carrots (1 Green)
               Milk (1 Yellow)

How Do I Feel Today: It was a struggle to get up and go push play on the PLYO dvd and in the end I didn't. I had a bunch of things on my plate to do today. One of which was braving the cold weather we are having and get into Austin to pick up some pictures of Matthew and then to pick up some organizing items so I can get more of my kitchen organized.
What did you do today as your workout?
Today was one of my more unproductive days. I sat and listened to the intro music to Plyo for a couple of hours while I worked on other things. At one point I even went in and pressed play...I made it through the warm up, but just didn't have it in me to go further today. My boys were up at 3am...yes I said 3AM...so I was very tired by the time my oldest got on the bus at 7am. It's also still very cold, as in it never gets out of the 30's, which makes it very hard to stay warm.
On another note, I've decided to be a Beachbody coach. I will finish signing up when I return from our trip next week. I don't want anything delivered while I am away. Tomorrow I will eat what I need to and get ready for a large journey ahead. I want to help as many other people as I can out there.

Becoming a Coach

I've been asked to be a Beachbody Coach. I have my own personal doubts on whether or not I could be a good coach. Would I be able to encourage someone to keep going, to push play every single day, even when they don't want to?

  • Would you want me to coach you through the 21 Day Fix program?
  • Would you want me to help you figure out your meal plans?
  • Would you want me to be there to support you when you don't feel you have made any progress?
  • Would you want me to come join you in your workout, when you just feel the need to have someone else tell you to keep going...you've got this?
Let's just say I am really on the fence right now. If you can answer any of those questions, please leave a comment. Tell me what you think.

Round Two - Day Ten

Tomato, Bell Pepper, Onion, Spinach (1 Green)
                   Shredded Cheese (1 Blue)
Lunch: Veggie Pattie (1 Red)
              Baked Asparagus (1 Green)
              Cheddar Cheese (1 Blue)

Snack: Greek Yogurt (1/2 Red)
             Banana/Raspberries (1 Purple)

Dinner: Pot Roast (1 Red)
              Carrots/Onion (1 Green)
              Potatoes (1 Yellow)

How Do I Feel Today: Today I rocked Lower Fix. I am feeling really good today. Apparently yesterday staying on track helped out because I have more energy to do things and feel rested. I actually felt like I slept last night despite that I had a pretty crazy dream that woke me up feeling frustrated and exhausted. I hate those dreams that you feel like you are running from something, but you can't run fast enough. Well, it was one of those dreams...I was in a large building looking for a room and couldn't find it and I was running out of time.
Needless to say today was a cold day and is totally getting in the way of my walks. It's just too cold to put Matthew into a stroller and speed walk him around. I mean it was 34 degrees today. That is just not the weather we are used to down here in Texas.
So, we are expecting this kind of weather the rest of the month with some rain thrown in. I hope to keep on my good eating and get my workouts in first thing in the morning before my brain tells me I'm crazy. I'm also taking on the task of tackling the organizing in the kitchen. I have things shoved into cupboards that don't even belong in the kitchen or that I even use.

A Peek Into My Pantry and Fridge

Let me start with saying that I did not throw a single thing out of my pantry and fridge while I organized it, other than the boxes foods came in or the plastic baggies used for produce (should really look into reusable ones of these).

My pantry is my pride and joy. Once a year I go to Sam's Club and do a massive stock up on canned goods and snacks for the boys. Amazingly I don't think we will be stocking up on much this year since we are eating more and more fresh fruits and vegetables.

I needed to make sure that things were more visible so that we knew what we had on hand and what we should either restock or eat up before I went to the store again, especially since I go to the store once a week for our weekly produce and extras for meals.

My fridge just needed things put in differently than they were...too many things piled on top of each other.

First...my pantry:
This was a coat closet off the kitchen in our home.
I added shelving to the door and lower portion for storage.
Raul added the shelf in the middle.
These shelves contain baking stuff.
Anyone need some tomato paste? Seven cans, really?
And peanut butter...I swear I love that stuff and would eat it with a spoon.
Mac-n-Cheese, Steel Cut Oats, and Salad fixings.
Okay...these shelves show what is left of canned goods from March's shopping trip.
Green Beans, Corn, Tuna, Baked Beans.
The beer (which made Raul sick so we put it aside...anyone want free beer?)
The red on the left contain cheese & crackers that the boys eat for snacks.
The green on the left contain Natures Valley Protein Bars (I love these) and Gummies.
The red on the right are Pretzel Crisps (great with Hummus), Crystal Light Mix, Small bags of Cheez-Its and Graham Crackers.
The green on the right holds Rice Cakes, Chocolate Pudding Cups, and Popcorn.
This is the bottom of the pantry...Box of bagged chips for Joshua's lunches and bags of Pecans that need shelling...any volunteers?
This shelf is my baking items (flour, sugar, powdered sugar, brown sugar),
Oatmeal, Cheerios, Granola, and the only chips.
Oatmeal (I told you we buy it in bulk), ice cream cones for the summer,
Gatorade mix, extra cereal (frosted shredded wheat and Rice Chex),
a graham cracker crust and s'mores items.

Next...my fridge:
The door holds the usual...condiments/butter/milk/wine/rum...that's normal, right?
Bottom shelf...Beer, the only can of soda,
a pitcher of Gatorade, and a pitcher of water
Middle shelf...homemade salsa and BBQ sauce,
applesauce, sour cream, greek yogurt, butter,
asparagus, cucumber, tomatoes, onion, bell peppers.
Top Shelf...eggs, leftover pizza/ribs, a jar of opened salsa,
and tortillas (Raul will go through that bag in less than 2wks).
The crisper contains my fruits and the other lunch meats and cheeses.

Also...my fridge freezer (you'll see the stand alone later):
The top has the coolers for the lunch boxes.
The bottom is veggie burgers, a kids cuisine, pecans, and o'brien potatoes.
Frozen fruit galore (I love me some smoothies), waffles,
ice cream, and since the ice machine is broken there are some
little tubs of vanilla ice cream in there that the boys like to eat (because they are little).

So, why did I show you my pantry and fridge/freezer? Because I wanted to show you that I haven't thrown anything out, I don't buy weird foods. I eat normal like most everyone else out there. My journey is just a journey to eat better foods. To inspire others around me to think about what they are putting into their body.

I love my cleaned up pantry and fridge...there was some serious sticky stuff on the bottom shelf, but I like being able to see what I have to eat and knowing that it is good for me.

Round Two - Day Nine

Workout: Upper Fix
video

Breakfast: Whey Protien (1 Red)
                  Coconut Milk (1 Yellow)
                  Strawberries/Banana (1 Purple)

Snack: Apple (1 Purple)

Lunch: Veggie Patty (1 Red)
             Cheddar Cheese (1/2 Blue)
             Baked Asparagus (1 Green)
             Carrots (1 Green)
             Dressing (1 Orange)

Snack: 2 Hard Boiled Eggs (1 Red)

Dinner: Multi-Grain Tortilla (1 Yellow)
              Lean Ground Beef (1 Red)
              Shredded Cheese (1/2 Blue)
              Lettuce (1 Green)

How Do I Feel Today: I feel sluggish and bloated. I feel down and defeated. Like I screwed up somehow. I'm trying to stay positive and make the rest of the week awesome and move into next week with full strides.
So far I have been 100% on track and I feel good about that. I cleaned up my pantry and my fridge will be tomorrow. I need to keep it organized and cleaned up so that I can see exactly what I have on hand and what is good for us and what should be eaten right away. I noticed quite a bit of stuff goes bad because things end up packed in and we can't see what we have.
Today's workout was good. I can tell that I am not sleeping enough and mother nature is on her way because I could barely do push-ups today. I go to bed and then wake up without feeling like I slept. I feel like I have just shut my eyes and then it's over. Craziness.
As long as I keep trying to give my all and eat right there will always be progress...no matter how long it takes.
